She was supposed to be moving in with her new boyfriend Scott, but all she finds after relocating to Brighton is an empty flat. Scott has vanished. His possessions have all disappeared.
Except for his mobile phone.
Kate knows she shouldn’t hack into Scott’s phone. She shouldn’t look at his Tinder, his texts, his social media. But she can’t quite help herself.
That’s when the trouble starts. Strange, whispering phone calls from numbers she doesn’t recognise. Scratch marks on the door that she can’t explain.
And the growing feeling that she’s being watched . . .
Jason Arnopp – author of The Last Days of Jack Sparks, a Radio 2 Bookclub pick – returns with a razor-sharp thriller for a social-media obsessed world. Prepare to never look at your phone the same way again . . .

Tense and gripping
This is an absolute barn-burner of a novel, a page-turning ambulance ride with danger at every turn... Arnopp has written a rollicking, disturbing horror story that's also a biting commentary on the seductive nature of today's tech
Anyone who doesn't pick this up deserves to get a serious case of FOMO. Read this on a long train journey and was so absorbed I missed my stop. A fiendishly smart exploration of obsession and social media addiction, GHOSTER will haunt you in more ways than one. Compulsively readable, terrifying and laced with Jason Arnopp's trademark wit, you'll never look at your phone in the same way again. Loved it.
Magnificently twisted and utterly unnerving
Spooky, funny, and, perhaps most importantly, in touch with the way young people use technology
A blistering satire of our digital lives disguised as a creepy thriller . . . The story slowly morphs into something wholly unexpected-a twisty tale that just might qualify as the first true 21st-century horror story
Often funny and always unnerving
