As a thanks for telling us what you want to see from Crime Files, you’ll be in with the chance to WIN at £50 voucher to spend at Waterstones!

• This is a prize draw for one entrant to win a £50 e-voucher for Waterstones’ online shop. To enter, you must complete and submit the survey in its entirety. There will be one winner. The prize will be non-transferable.
• The winner will be selected at random, using a random computerised number generator, from the entries received in accordance with these terms and conditions, by the Company, whose decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
• There is no purchase necessary to enter.
• The prize draw opens at 12:01 am BST on 202/05/2025 and closes at 11:59 pm BST on 23/05/2025. Any entries received outside these specified times and dates will not be eligible for entry into the prize draw.
• The prize draw is open to residents of the UK aged 18 or over except employees of the Company, their families, or anyone professionally connected to the prize draw, either themselves or through their families.
• Only one entry per person allowed. Second or subsequent entries will be disqualified. Entries will not be accepted via agents, third parties or in bulk.
• The Company is not responsible for contacting or forwarding prizes to entrants who provide unclear or incomplete information or for entries lost, misdirected, delayed or destroyed.
• The Company reserves the right to alter the prizes or cancel the prize draw without notice but will try to avoid creating any undue disappointment. No cash alternatives to prizes will be provided. If a winner is unable to accept their prize or cannot be contacted, the Company reserves the right to select another winner.
• The Company will make available the name of the winner to anyone who requests this information by writing to the Company at the address shown below.
• The Company is the data controller of Personal Data that it collects in the course of running the prize draw and will use the Personal Data in accordance with the Company’s Privacy Notice https://www.hachette.co.uk/landing-page/privacy-notice-general-huk/. It will use such Personal Data for the purposes of running the prize draw and delivering any prize(s) and will delete it within six months from the end of the prize draw. “Personal Data” means names of entrants and other details provided by them (e.g. email addresses, telephone numbers) for the prize draw. The Company will not share such Personal Data with any third parties except for the purpose of delivering the prize(s).
• The Company will also use Personal Data, including special category data, submitted in the survey for its Crime Files initiative. By submitting the survey, you will be entered into the Crime Files community. We will collect your Personal Data (including your survey responses) to learn about you and your reading habits and preferences. We will keep your Crime Files profile for the shorter of 12 months or you informing us you would like to opt-out of the Crime Files initiative (subject to a reasonable and necessary time period for actioning the request). Unless you have elected to opt-out, we will, at the end of the 12 months, ask you whether you would like to consent again to us keeping your Crime Files profile. Throughout the 12 months, we will email you tailored surveys asking questions about books, genres and related topics that we consider you may be interested in. You are under no obligation to respond to these surveys. If you do respond to the surveys, we will create anonymous aggregated reports of the information received from the survey respondents and delete your survey responses. We will also, unless you opt-out or your consent has expired, use your email address to contact you during the Crime Files initiative and/or twelve months thereafter to ask you whether you would like to partake in an extended or new Crime Files initiative (or similar project under a different name but for the same purpose).
• By entering the prize draw entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
• This prize draw is being organised by Hachette UK Limited of Carmelite House, 50 Victoria Embankment, London EC4Y 0DZ (“Company”).
• These terms and conditions and any disputes or claims (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of these terms and conditions shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of England, whose courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
