Ted Scheinman grew up between London and New York, and now lives in Washington DC. He is a senior editor at Smithsonian magazine and a contributing editor at Los Angeles Review of Books. His essays and reporting have appeared in the BBC, The Paris Review, The New York Times, The Atlantic, GQ, The New Republic, Slate, and many more.
