Once I joined, I discovered that Hachette’s commitment to inclusivity and connectivity doesn’t just end with the national offices. They try to find ways to keep us feeling connected both in-person or online. The employee networks are a great way to meet other like-minded people in the business, or other employees who share your background or identity. Even in our separate divisions, the business feels very connected, which was a huge advantage to me when I was just starting out in the industry.

I think everyone at Hachette has a real sense of curiosity when it comes to their roles: how can we make this more effective, quicker, more reliable? Or, what is this new social media platform, and what can we learn from it and apply to our books? It’s energising to be around as you’re always looking for ways to improve things, or on the hunt for a new adventure.
