Why not grab a pumpkin spice latte and settle in – people who visit tend to stay a while . . .
Emma Rogers-Li is a city girl through and through. Or – she was a city girl. Until she lost her apartment in Manhattan, her publishing job and her relationship all in one fell swoop. On a whim she applies to run a bookshop in quirky small-town Vermont. After all, why not do something different? It’s only for a year, tops.
Enter Hunter Hall, the gruff park ranger Emma manages to – literally – run into at the intersection of Heart and Hope Street.
According to town legend, it’s fate – couples who meet (or indeed, collide) at that corner are destined to be together. But how can this possibly be true when the person she ran into is a grump who seems totally committed to small-town life, a world away from the future she pictured for herself.
Still, something about the whole fiasco does make her wonder. Maybe she shouldn’t be in such a hurry to get back to ‘real’ life. The ramshackle bookshop and it’s madcap gang of regulars are starting to grow on her.
As, against her best judgment, is a certain someone else . . .
