Eva Jordenson never expected to get married while she was still at college. And she certainly never expected to become a widow three years later; still angered by his unfaithfulness during their marriage, but wracked with guilt, she has no idea how she is supposed to feel.

Travelling to Brazil on a flight booked by her husband shortly before he died, much to the disapproval of her in-laws, Eva wonders if she’s doing the right thing. But she is soon captivated by the stunning landscapes that Brazil offers her and her camera.

When she begins to be captivated by her tour guide, however – the imposing Roberto Carvalho – she is even less sure that she’s doing the right thing. Surely it’s too soon? But somehow, it feels right. Will Eva be able to cast off the expectations of others and take her chance at happiness?
