The Next Chapter Internship is a virtual scheme that welcomes applications from those who are looking to change careers or have taken time away from work. This full-time, paid internship lasts for six weeks and is a key part of our mission to demonstrate that publishing should be for everyone, at any stage of their career, and in any role. Several of our previous interns have gone on to secure permanent roles within Hachette UK and the wider publishing industry.

Each intern is hosted by a different team within Hodder and Stoughton or the Orion Publishing Group. They spend their internship working closely with their departmental mentor to work on projects and gain a better understanding of the publishing process. They are also given the chance to become involved with the wider company and attend a variety of meetings, as well as meet staff from all parts of the business and learn about their roles. Although designed to be a virtual internship, interns are also invited to spend at least one day at one of our UK offices.
