Our mission is to give opportunity to the next generation of designers and nurture emerging creative talent. As part of this commitment, we offer successful applicants a six week paid Design Internship.
In a unique, cross divisional experience, candidates will gain insight across trade, non-trade and children’s publishing. This approach offers the fullest exposure to a broad range of publishing genres to gain as much industry knowledge as possible and an expansive overview of the realities of working in-house at a large and varied publisher.
Interns are active members of each department, meeting colleagues in key departments, taking on live briefs, shadowing designers on projects and attending meetings to get a true sense of the day-to-day work as a designer in publishing.
We focus on providing professional experience, developing skills in preparing artwork for print, presenting and articulating ideas and producing work that can be used in a portfolio. With the aim for candidates to leave the experience with a full understanding of bringing a book to market and a range of work demonstrating their new skills and understanding to add to their portfolio.
