Hachette UK Distribution appoints Business Development Director

Today we announce an important appointment for Hachette UK Distribution.

Russell Evans, previously Commercial Director for Simon & Schuster UK (S&S), will become Business Development Director for Hachette UK Distribution. Russell joined S&S in 2013 and successfully led publisher operations, whilst developing the quality and range of publisher services, growing the sales and distribution business.

Reporting to Chief Executive Officer, Matt Wright, and working closely with central functions within Hachette UK, Russell will be responsible for expanding the service offer for existing distribution clients and attracting new publisher clients with this range of service options.

Matt Wright says: “Hachette UK Distribution opened the state-of-the art Hely Hutchinson Centre (HHC) in 2018 and our service levels are now leading the market once again. Our next objective is to enhance our offer to client publishers and grow the business. We have plenty of capacity to grow and the appointment of Russell into this board-level role shows our dedication and determination to do just that. Russell has the drive and experience we need to develop the business, complimenting a team that is going from strength to strength.

Hachette has one of the best warehouse and distribution facilities in the UK, along with a sales team that matches its performance. With this in mind, I’m looking forward to undertaking this new position and to grow Hachette’s third-party publisher sales and distribution business.”

This appointment is effective 5^th September.
