Who we are and what we do
The Hachette print room is an in-house digital print facility based at Hachette UK’s London HQ.
We provide a comprehensive range of print and finishing services to the Hachette UK group of companies using the latest digital production print and finishing equipment from Xerox, Epson, EFI, Morgana and Valiani.
We make short run books, catalogues, postcards, bookmarks, badges, displays, posters, company reports, business cards, Christmas cards, stationery, artwork proofs, banners and anything else our internal customers ask us to produce.
We pride ourselves in delivering an efficient, rapid and high-quality service to meet the high paced demands of our publishing colleagues.
What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Head of Audio and Print Services, you will carry out a range of printing and finishing tasks, including operating colour and black and white Xerox production printers and a wide range of finishing machinery including booklet makers, PUR binders, guillotines and creasing machines.
You will be assist with the daily management of all stock coming in and going out of the print room.
You will also provide 1st fix support to a fleet of multi function and graphic arts printers based in the offices. This includes changing toners, clearing jams and logging engineer calls.
Who we’re looking for
An eye for detail, quality and accurracy is essential in this busy role where deadlines are tight and customer expectations are high.
We are looking for someone with experience or an interest in digital print, with a passion for publishing and the creative arts.
Candidates should be able to manage heavy lifting and perform manual handling in a safe manner.
You should be confident to communicate with internal customers and manage their expectations and deliver within set timeframes.
A working knowledge of digital printing, offline finishing machinery, Adobe Creative Suite and MS office is desirable.
