Key Account Manager/ Director, Little Brown Sales

Who we are and what we do

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the UK Sales team at Little, Brown Book Group as a Key Account Manager/Director (dependent on experience). Four-time winner of the Publisher of the Year award, Little, Brown Book Group is one of the most successful and dynamic publishers in the UK. Across our fourteen imprints we publish as wide a range of titles as anyone in the industry, and pride ourselves on the quality, variety and diversity of our publishing output. Our authors include J.K. Rowling, Robert Galbraith, Donna Tartt, Sarah Waters, Val McDermid, Michael Wolff, Margaret Atwood, Jenny Colgan, David Sedaris, Nora Roberts and Colson Whitehead.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Little, Brown Sales Director you will be responsible for management of selected UK key accounts for Little, Brown, as well as working closely with the divisional sales director on forward-looking sales and publishing strategy. You will be responsible for growing the sales across each of these accounts profitably by working closely with the wider Little, Brown team including editorial, marketing and publicity.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a candidate with previous account management experience, as well as someone who has a wide view of the UK market. The role also calls for divisional responsibility on strategy meetings and as such, we’re looking for someone with excellent communication skills and ideally previous experience on working closely with marketing, publicity and editorial colleagues.

We’re looking for a team player with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, an ability to multi-task and prioritise, and an enthusiasm for working in a fast-moving commercial environment.

The successful candidate will be committed to building internal and external relationships, supporting divisional strategy and beating sales budgets.

Excellent Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and data analysis skills are essential.

What we offer

This is a varied and exciting role and in return we offer an excellent salary and benefit package and a genuine opportunity to develop your sales career within an ambitious team.

We aim to attract and develop talent from a base as broad as the world of readers we want to reach, with a wide and representative range of age, faith, disability, race, gender, sexuality and socio-economic, regional and cultural backgrounds.
