Assistant Management Accountant, Octopus

What you’ll be doing

An opportunity has arisen to join the Finance department of Octopus Publishing Group as Assistant Management Accountant.  Working as part of a small team, the purpose of the role is to assist in the preparation of the management accounts and fulfilling group reporting requirements, in addition to producing reports for the business including, sales reports, gross profit reports and retrospective title reviews.  The job also involves assisting the team with elements of the budget and reforecast.  Other responsibilities include working closely with the Inventory Manager to eliminate stock variances, assisting Editorial and Sales teams with ad hoc analysis and preparation for divisional audits.

Who we’re looking for

This is a varied position that requires excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with a systematic approach.  The successful candidate will be quick to learn, showing lots of initiative and self-motivation.  Strong communication and organisational skills are required, with the ability to meet strict deadlines.  The ideal candidate will have previous office experience in a finance department, as well as proven ability working with systems and manipulating figures (including solid Excel skills) and be in the early stages of studying towards a relevant accountancy qualification.

Salary: £23,000 to £26,000 depending on experience
