Sales Key Account Executive

Who we are and what we do

Hachette UK, one of the UK’s leading publishing groups, is seeking an enthusiastic, organised Sales Executive to join the busy Sales Department. This role in the sales team works across our trade publishers, Headline, Hodder & Stoughton, John Murray Press, and Quercus.

What you’ll be doing

Working with and reporting into the Key Account Manager for Waterstones, this role will be an integral part of the day-to-day running of the Waterstones account for Hodder and John Murray. With a passion for books and ideally a good knowledge of social media, the role will be responsible for running our various bookseller outreach initiatives.

Working closely with the Hodder and John Murray Press Marketing and Publicity teams to help craft innovative and eye-catching campaigns, including offering point of sale material, proof mailings, and local area initiatives as appropriate.

In addition, you will provide admin support across Quercus and Headline for Waterstones, Wholesalers and the Field Sales Teams, producing monthly grids, sales kits and sell in material as needed.

Who we’re looking for

The ideal candidate may have previous experience in publishing, marketing, communications, bookselling or a related field. You be highly organised self-starter who is passionate about books; will bring creativity, confidence and enthusiasm to the role; possess exceptional communication skills; be highly organised and pro-active.

It is key that you are passionate about books and able to communicate your enthusiasm, but also that you have an eye for detail and the ability to multi-task. We are looking for a true team player, who can make a real contribution to a dynamic department.

Salary £24,000 p.a.
