This is an exciting opportunity to work in Group International Sales across four of these divisions; Hachette Children’s Group, Little, Brown Book Group, Octopus Publishing Group and Orion Publishing Group.
What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Group Sales Director you will be responsible for maximising sales of Hachette Children’s, Little, Brown, Octopus and Orion titles in all our international territories, incl. wholesalers, distributors and other identified customers, but with direct responsibility for Australia, New Zealand, India and North America.
You will be managing the closed market team (six direct reports) and will be responsible for monitoring their sales and overseeing their responsibilities.
This is a senior sales role so you will ideally have experience of working across International publishing and good managerial skills.
What we are looking for:
We’re looking for a strong team player who is commercially astute and with international experience.
You’ll need to have excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, an ability to multi-task and prioritise, and an enthusiasm for working in a fast-moving commercial environment.
The key tasks of the role will include, but are not limited to the following:
- To manage export sales and profitability for the specified divisions including setting title budgets, monitoring and analysing sales and managing communication both internally and externally.
- Working closely with the Joint International Sales Director (Open Markets) to maximise sales for our authors and the business
- Manage and motivate the Closed Market International Team
- Manage the ongoing relationships with the overseas offices – Hachette Australia, Hachette New Zealand, Hachette India, Hachette USA and Hachette Canada
You’ll need to be proficient with Microsoft Excel and have experience with data analysis.
