Who we are and what we do
Hachette Children’s Group is seeking an energetic and self-motivated Coordinator to join its licensing out team, working across TV, film, stage, merchandise and partnership/promotional rights for the HCG list. This is an exciting opportunity to work on adaptations and brand extensions for some of the biggest books on our list, and to contribute to our brilliant list of in-house IP creation and Licensed publishing projects.
What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Head of Licensed Content, the successful candidate will help to build our licensing out business and drive revenue, with a particular focus on merchandise and stage categories. They will work with the Head of Licensed Content to identify titles on the HCG list with potential in other media (Stage, TV, film, merchandise, etc), develop contacts and build networks within the stage, live event and merchandise industries, pitch our books to potential partners and negotiate contracts with the support of their manager.
The Coordinator will also provide essential administrative support to the Head of Licensed Content and across all aspects of HCG’s licensing out business. This will include record-keeping and invoicing for licensing and partnership/promotion deals, diary management and organising trade fair schedules, managing contact databases, expenses, and any other admin tasks relating to licensing out and to partnerships and promotions.
Who we’re looking for
Applicants should be self-motivated, organised and adaptable, with a positive outlook and at least assistant-level experience. Market knowledge of the stage and/or merchandise industries would be a huge asset.
