Hachette UK shortlisted for Innovation in Flexible Working Award following equalization of Shared Parental Leave

Hachette UK is delighted to share the news that we’ve been shortlisted for one of WorkingMums.co.uk’s annual Top Employer Awards, in the category of Innovation in Flexible Working. This category of their awards is for employers who demonstrate specific policies and practices related to flexible working which are truly innovative and break new ground, whether that be in a particular industry or in general. Hachette UK are shortlisted alongside John Lewis, Pearson, UBS and other high-profile employers. You can read more about the awards here. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 5th November.

 

The shortlisting recognizes our commitment to supporting our employees’ needs and enabling a culture of flexible working that suits every member of staff. In particular, this news follows our announcement that we have equalized our Shared Parental Leave policy, allowing all parents 20 weeks at full pay when taking shared parental leave at any time in the 37-week period of eligibility. We chose to make this commitment to equal pay for parents following discussions with many employees and with our Gender Balance Network, following a successful ‘Flexible Fortnight’ initiative earlier this year in which staff were encouraged and enabled to work from home or to work different hours to suit their needs.
