ABI DAKER is a British illustrator who lives and works in Cyprus with her husband and son. She studied Art at the University of Reading and has since worked on children's books and as an archaeological illustrator; she also specialises in illustrated maps and architectural subjects. Her LONGEST DOT TO DOT books express her passion for exploring the graphic and linear qualities of the world in an imaginative and engaging new way. She also paints and draws the mediterranean landscapes of her home in Paphos.
The Dalai Lama
His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the exiled religious and temporal leader of Tibet and winner of the 1989 Nobel Peace Prize, is recognised internationally as a spiritual leader and statesman. He lives in Dharamsala, India. Nicholas Vreeland has been a practicing Tibetan Buddhist monk since 1985, when he was ordained by the Dalai Lama. Since 1998 he has been the Director of the Tibet Center.
Kenny Dalglish was one of the most successful footballers of his era, winning successive tournaments with Liverpool, and then turning to management he triumphed with Liverpool and Blackburn. Since then he has managed Newcastle in a difficult spell and recently taken over the Direction of football in Glasgow Celtic. His autobiography was one of the biggest selling books of its year.
Lawrence Dallaglio has been a Wasps player all his club career, signing in 1990 and becoming captain in 1995 for 12 years until his retirement in 2008. He has won a hat-trick of Premiership titles and was also a member of the triumphant England Sevens team which won the World Cup at Murrayfield in 1993. He has captained his country and is regarded as one of the world's greatest ever back-row forwards - he was the only player to play in every minute of every match during the victorious 2003 World Cup campaign. Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith
Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith is an author, speaker, and board-certified physician. She has an active medical practice in Alabama (near the Birmingham area). She received her B.S. in Biochemistry at the University of Georgia, and graduated with honors from Meharry Medical College in Nashville. She has been an adjunct faculty member at Baker College and Davenport University in Michigan teaching courses on health, nutrition, and disease progression. Dr. Dalton-Smith is a national and international media resource on the mind, body, spirit connection and has been featured in Women's Day, Redbook, and First For Women magazine. She is the author of Set Free to Live and Come Empty (winner 2016 Golden Scroll Nonfiction Book of the Year and 2016 Illumination Award Gold medalist). She is a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Association and a repeat keynote speaker at their annual gathering. She has shared her tips on merging faith and medicine with over 16,000 health care professionals to encourage the current and next generation of doctors to treat the whole person.

He has written on a wide range of ancient topics, including the historiography of Roman imperialism, prostitution, drinking to get drunk, low-class mimes, sacred time and fish. He is the author of COURTESANS AND FISHCAKES: THE CONSUMING PASSIONS OF CLASSICAL ATHENS (1997), and is a irregular contributor to The London Review of Books among other journals.
Josh Davis is an actor, singer, and narrator and has performed in numerous theatre productions in the USA. Recent roles have included Jamie in "The Last Five Years", Dennis in Kenneth Lonnergan's "This Is Our Youth" and Billy Bigelow in "Carousel". After spending a number of years working as a singer, writer and musician in the field of contemporary music, Maggi Dawn was ordained into the Anglican Church in 1999. Having been Chaplain and Fellow at Robinson College, Cambridge, she is now Dean of Marquand Chapel and Associate Professor at Yale Divinity School. An occasional broadcaster for BBC Radio 4 Religion, she is a regular speaker at Greenbelt Festival and a wide range of venues around the world. Her books include Beginnings, Giving it up and THE WRITING ON THE WALL.
MICK DAWSON is one of the most experienced and successful ocean rowers in the world. To date, he has spent over 440 days at sea in rowing boats, covering a distance of over 18,000 nautical miles. He is a former Royal Marines commando, who saw active service both in the Falklands War and the Middle East. His lifelong passion for the ocean continued after his time in the Royal Marines when he went on to become a professional sailor and ultimately record-breaking ocean rower. He is currently working with veterans on maritime projects to assist with their recovery from PTSD and combat injuries.
Jon Day is a writer, academic and keen fisherman. He is a lecturer in English Literature at King's College London, and his essays and reviews have appeared in the London Review of Books, n+1, the Times Literary Supplement, the Guardian and the White Review. He is also a regular book critic for the Financial Times and the Telegraph, and is a contributing editor for the Junket, an online literary quarterly. His first book, Cyclogeography: Journeys of a London Bicycle Courier, was published in 2015.
Sarah De Carvalho
In 1992 Sarah de Carvalho left her glittering, well-paid media career in London to live and work amongst the street children of Rio de Janeiro's slums. Sarah founded the Happy Child Mission which is dedicated to providing physical, educational and spiritual care for street children. Today, Happy Child runs 9 homes in two major cities in Brazil and has rescued, rehabilitated and reintegrated over 7500 children.
Walter De La Mare
Walter de la Mare (1873-1956) was an English poet, short story writer and novelist, probably best remembered for his works for children and the poem The Listeners. He was also a significant writer of subtle psychological horror and ghost stories. His novel, Memoirs of a Midget won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize for fiction in 1921. He was made a Companion of Honour in 1948 and received the Order of Merit in 1953.
Sergio De La Pava
Sergio de la Pava is the author of the novels A Naked Singularity and Personae. A Naked Singularity won the PEN/Bingham Prize for Debut Fiction in 2013 and was shortlisted for the inaugural Folio Prize in the UK, Personae received a starred review in Publisher's Weekly and extraordinary critical praise. De la Pava is an attorney in New York City where he represents indigent defendants and advocates for large-scale criminal justice reforms.

Jenny Deanhas worked with dye plants and their natural dyes for over 30 years. She is the author of The Craft of Natural Dyeing, and Natural Dyeing without Chemicals. She regularly runs workshops and courses on natural dyeing and has a large collection of naturally-dyed textiles from around the world.
F. G. Delamotte
Freeman Gage Delamotte (1814-1862) was a master draughtsman and engraver, with a desire to make the essential and beautiful accessible. From his studios on London's Strand he published a series of books of designs and letterforms for artists and designers: these went on to become best-sellers, reprinting repeatedly through the Victorian age and dramatically influencing the aesthetics and applied arts of the entire era.
