Arnaud Nourry - Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Hachette Livre
From 1997-2003 Arnaud worked in the Groupe Alexandre Hatier as Managing Director. Before that he worked for S.I.S. as a Consultant Manager and for Hachette Livre as a Deputy Group Finance Director. He was appointed Chairman and CEO of Hachette Livre in 2003.
Tim Hely Hutchinson - Group Chief Executive of Hachette UK
Tim founded Headline Book Publishing in 1986. Headline was floated on the London Stock Exchange in 1991 and acquired Hodder & Stoughton in 1993 to form Hodder Headline PLC, of which Tim became Chief Executive. After a period in the ownership of WH Smith PLC, of which Tim was a director, Hodder Headline was acquired by Hachette Livre in 2004. At that time Tim became Group Chief Executive of the enlarged Hachette UK Group, which now includes Hodder & Stoughton, Headline Publishing Group, Hachette Children’s Books, Hodder Education and its subsidiaries, John Murray, Hachette Book Group Ireland, Little, Brown Book Group, Orion Publishing Group, Octopus Publishing Group, the group’s fulfilment centres Bookpoint and Littlehampton Book Services, and the group’s companies in Australia, New Zealand and India. He is a member of the International Board of Hachette Livre and director of Hachette Book Group USA.
Jane Morpeth - Chair, Headline Publishing Group
Jane joined Headline as a commissioning editor soon after it was founded in 1986 and has been Deputy Managing Director since 2006. She was appointed Managing Director of Headline in 2009.
Hilary Murray Hill - CEO, Hachette Children's Group
Hilary began her publishing career at Reed. She worked in sales and marketing at the Carlton Publishing Group and then at Usborne, where she was UK Trade Sales and Marketing Director from 2001 to 2005. She joined Scholastic as UK Sales and Marketing Director and, in 2009, she was appointed Managing Director of Children's Books, before later moving to Egmont Publishing as Managing Director. Hilary joined the newly formed Hachette Children's Group as CEO in 2015.
Jamie Hodder Williams - CEO, Hodder & Stoughton, John Murray Press, Headline and Quercus
Jamie started his career working for a small chain of Scottish booksellers. He joined Hodder & Stoughton in 1987 as a management trainee. He became Marketing Director of Hodder & Stoughton in 1994 before being made MD in 2002. He was named CEO of Hodder & Stoughton and Headline in 2010, and CEO of Quercus following its acquisition by Hodder & Stoughton in 2014.
Alison Goff - Chief Executive, Octopus Publishing Group
After 6 years as Managing Director of Hamlyn, Alison took over as Chief Executive of the Octopus Group in 2005. Alison has also worked for Quarto, Macmillan and Croom Helm
Pierre de Cacqueray - Group Finance Director, Hachette UK
After graduating from HEC, the leading French business school, Pierre worked as an auditor. He joined Hachette Livre’s headquarters in Paris in 1997 and relocated to England in 1999 as Finance Director of Orion. Before Hachette, Pierre worked in various finance positions in magazine publishing in France and Germany.
Dominic Mahony - Group HR Director, Hachette UK
Dominic joined HUK in 2009 from O2 where he was the UK HR Director. Prior to that, he spent five years as HR Director for TUI (formerly the Thomson Travel Group) and eleven years working for Tesco in the UK, in France for the Tesco French subsidiary Catteau, and as part of the start-up team of Tesco in Asia.
Richard Kitson - Commercial Director, Hachette UK
Richard joined Hachette UK as Group Commercial Director in the summer of 2006, shortly after the acquisition of Little, Brown by Hachette UK where he had previously held a number of roles including International Sales Director and most recently Deputy Chief Operating Officer. He joined the HUK board in July 2007.
Chris Emerson – Group Chief Operating Officer, Hachette UK
Chris joined Hachette UK in July 2008. Prior to working for the Group he held a number of senior roles within the media industry, most recently at Technicolor where as VP of Commercial Development he established an industry leading solution to support the supply of home entertainment product into European retailers.
Clare Harington - Group Communications Director
Clare Harington has had a long career in publishing spanning Pan, Penguin and Random House. She joined Hachette UK in 2007 and is responsible for external and internal communication on behalf of the group.
David Shelley - CEO, Little, Brown Book Group and Orion Publishing Group
David Shelley joined Little, Brown as editorial director in 2005, after five years running the independent publisher Allison and Busby. Initially commissioning mainly crime and thrillers and overseeing the audio and ebook lists, he became Sphere publisher in 2007, then Little, Brown Deputy Publisher in 2009, and Publisher in 2011. In 2015 he was appointed CEO of Little, Brown and Orion.
