Hachette is marking World Book Day with two special titles04/03/2010

Over 13 million schoolchildren will receive a WBD £1 Book Token which can be exchanged for a WBD £1 Book or put towards any book or audiobook priced at least £2.99.  The titles will also be available in Braille and large print versions.

Hodder & Stoughton have also produced a “Quick Reads” title from finance guru Alvin Hall.  His Money Magic: Seven Simple Steps to True Financial Freedom is available for £1.99 as one of 10 special shorter titles by bestselling writers and celebrities, designed for adults who have lost the reading habit, struggle with reading, or simply want a fast fun read.

For the first time this year, children will be able to have the books read to them through online initiative Read to a Million Kids, created by Renaissance Learning in conjunction with their Accelerated Reader programme. The website will include footage of the books being read aloud, plus a Q&A session and a quiz.
