Hachette UK titles shortlisted for Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Novel Of The Year01/06/2009
Five Hachette UK titles have been selected for the 5th Annual Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year shortlist.
The only award of its kind to be voted for by the general public, the prize is open to British paperbacks published in 2008. The winner will be announced at the opening night of the Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival on 23rd July 2009, where the winner will be awarded £3,000 and a handmade Theakstons Old Peculier Cask made by the last cooper in England.
Simon Theakston Executive Director of T&R Theakston today said; 'This year the shortlist is as strong as ever with some very strong contenders. However, the votes by readers have led to surprise winners in the past so I am very much looking forward to seeing who the public choose as their favourite crime read of 2008.'
The 14 shortlisted books will be on special offer at Asda from 7th – 27th July with 2 books for £7.
