Bookpoint Implements IRI (Industry Returns Initiative)06/10/2008
The industry standard IRI processing system has been introduced at Bookpoint and went live at the beginning of September. As a result returns of books published by the Hachette Livre UK group publishers distributed by Bookpoint, notably Headline, Hodder & Stoughton, John Murray Hachette Children’s Books, Hodder Education including Chambers will now be accepted under the IRI terms and conditions.
Bookpoint is also pleased to advise that the following 3rd Party clients are also IRI enabled.

IRI was initiated by the Booksellers’ Association and the Publishers’ Association to reduce cost and increase efficiency in the book industry supply chain. HLUK’s other distribution company Littlehampton Book Services (LBS) has been operating IRI for 3 years and the installation at Bookpoint means that all publishers within the HLUK group are now covered.
